Our ferry to Kangaroo Island departed at 10:00 am. But first, we had to drive about 170 km to Cape Jervis. So, we had to get up early again. What a stress on vacation! The crossing only took three quarters of an hour.
The original wildlife of Australia is still preserved on the island. We will explore it tomorrow. There are strict regulations on the island, for example, as rental car owners, we are not allowed to drive from sunset to sunrise in order not to lose insurance coverage. The frequent wildlife crossing is the reason for this.
We have the house (Kestrel Downs) all to ourselves. It is located on a 40-hectare private property on a hill with a magnificent view of Pelican Lagoon.
Actually, we wanted to have a barbecue today. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the existing jumbo gas grill to work. The fear of blowing up the whole house prevailed. So, we're having steaks from the pan...
