Goodbye black box

The impossible has happened:

yesterday we sold our beloved black box.

It was not easy for us, but the decision to expand was made before our last vacation.

Unfortunately, we are not getting any younger and Steffi found it increasingly difficult to crawl on the cross bed after her two surgeries. So we needed something bigger with longitudinal beds.

So two days before our last trip, we went to the fair in Düsseldorf. The plan was to find a 6.36m long van with single beds and possibly order it right away.

It was frustrating: we have no idea what the designers of motorhomes are thinking. Practical people who are themselves traveling with such vehicles do not seem to be involved.

Anyway, we walked around the fair for hours and were increasingly annoyed. We couldn't find a usable van. What might have appealed to us was so heavy that we would hardly have any payload left. Who wants to go on vacation with such a vehicle? There were also many other little things like no possibility to put a trash can underneath (doesn't sound so bad - but try going on vacation for a few weeks without a trash can), lousy fittings, rattling installations...

Finally, we had actually given up the search, but then we found something after all.

The new one will no longer be a van but a narrow-bodied semi-integrated motorhome with a high payload and superb workmanship.

It is scheduled to be delivered in December and then the presentation will follow!

The black box has found a good new owner and the blog will continue under the name Vakantio.de/blackbox.
