Curvy drive to the south

Since we still want to see a bit of the south of the island, today we made a big leap to Snug. It's only about 300 km, but it took about 5 hours of driving time. The route leads mostly up and down through the bush of the "wild west" of Tasmania and is dotted with tight curves.

In Kettering, 10 km south of Snug, the ferry to Bruny Island departs. We will take that tomorrow morning to explore the island. Since we have already driven the long distance here 2 years ago and the sky was covered with thick clouds all day, we will skip the numerous small viewpoints along the way. Only the dramatic human-made interventions in nature in Queenstown (copper mining) catch our attention. And we will take a walk at Lake St. Claire.
