Belfast Day 3 and Conclusion

प्रकाशित: 26.10.2016

On our last day, we decided to sleep in because we had a whole exhausting week behind us and Saturday was also very exhausting. That led to us checking out at the last minute at exactly 11 o'clock... At least the receptionist gave us the tip to visit St. George's Market. It turned out that it is located exactly on the street where we got lost on the first evening.

The market is more like a market hall where everything imaginable is sold. There's clothing, books, sweets, fish, antiques, and much more.

Then we walked along the river to get to the Titanic Museum. It's really fascinating how the whole sinking is processed there, for example, there are underwater shots of the wreck shown or the stories of individual passengers and crew members are told. I found the room where the Titanic's last Morse communications with the ships coming to its aid are displayed particularly moving. It's a completely different feeling when you read that...

After we had digested all of this a bit and had gotten upset about the tastelessness of making profit from the death of almost 1,500 people in the museum shop, we went back to the center.

After dinner (for the first time since I've been here: fish and chips), we made our way to the train. Unfortunately, it was delayed on the way, so I didn't get home until around 11:30 p.m.

CONCLUSION: Belfast is really a beautiful city and at least the center is even more appealing than Dublin's because Belfast has more quiet corners and fewer cars. There's also no reason to worry or anything. I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe at any time. The surroundings of Belfast also have a lot to offer.
