21/12/2019 - New York - Top of the Rocks

Today's day was all about, on, and around the Rockefeller Center. We walked from the bus station through the streets and discovered amazing things once again. Of course, the ice rink under the colorful Christmas tree in front of the Rockefeller Center was a must-see. How romantic, but incredibly expensive, so we just watched the other skaters. Now we had reserved tickets for the Top of the Rock observation deck. We took the elevator up to 259 meters high and had a magnificent view of the city's many skyscrapers, in daylight and at dusk. Once back down, the night had fallen over the city. The Times Square now shimmered under all the sparkling advertisements, and the stores on 5th Avenue displayed their most colorful shop windows. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the metropolis a little longer before heading back to our small town of Lyndhurst.
