Today we moved to the next accommodation. We drove from Nonstal to the capital of Trentino - Trento. We found a central parking space and walked to Piazza Duomo. On the cathedral square with the San Vigilio Cathedral, Palazzo Pretorio, the Neptune Fountain, and beautifully frescoed houses, we enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city with an espresso. We paid a total of 3 euros for 2 espressos. Why is coffee so expensive in Germany? Afterwards, we walked through the streets of the city and discovered more notable houses, gardens, and the Episcopal Castle - Buonconsiglio Castle. From Trento, we made our way towards Lake Garda. There is a road directly along the lakeshore. Our first stop was in Malcesine on the east coast. In typical Italian fashion, we ate pizza here. During a stroll through the medieval town center with small squares, covered passages, and uneven cobblestone paths, we burned off the calories. Then we continued south by car. We drove slowly along the lakeside road, could see the many tourists sunbathing on the pebble beaches, and were glad to be sitting in an air-conditioned car at 33 degrees Celsius. This took us through the towns of Brenzone, Garda, Bardolino, Lazise, and Peschiera del Garda until we arrived in a small suburb of Desenzano del Garda. We had booked 2 nights here at the very south of the lake. In the evening, with slightly cooler temperatures, we took a walk to the beach and through the tiny city center.
