Alicante

Now I'm back in Spain (this time by plane) and here in Alicante I'm experiencing a whole different world than the places I visited on the Atlantic coast a few weeks ago. The city is full of tourists, there's hardly a spot available on the beach, and in the evenings the old town is very lively and noisy. Well, what else would you expect on a Saturday night. I would have liked to have my bus with me, so I could just park somewhere outside the city and then decide freely whether I want to go into the city or into nature.

But this time it's not just a vacation, but a training course with the beautiful title 'Outdoor Recreation' that brought me here. So I hope to have many beautiful outdoor and nature experiences during this week. After all, hiking, paddling, jogging, and snorkeling are on the program.

I already had a great view today on my little run up to the castle and along the promenade. Sadly, I had to stop here afterwards because there were too many walkers and running became impossible.

So today I'm looking forward to the first meeting with the participants and hoping for an eventful week.
