As I suspected, the weather warning was exaggerated at least for the region where we were. Athens was probably more affected. However, it was once again a test for me in terms of longer stays in the bus. Yesterday around noon, I set off for a hike. It was a peaceful moment with rain and thunderstorms. The Komoot tour actually started right at the campsite. And what was the reason that I eventually turned around? Fear of thunderstorms, but that didn't happen, only rain but only after I was back at the site. And then? Reading, listening to an audio play (a bit of ancient Greece.) 😉 Created a greeting card for my mom. But, hello, I could practically feel the restlessness. I am clearly an outdoor person.

This morning, thumbs up, the sun was shining and we visited the archaeological site of Mycenae. Heinrich Schliemann dug and had others dig here in 1876. Mycenae was a royal palace, fortress, and capital. The powerful kings Agamemnon and Atreus ruled here. Particularly noteworthy are the Cyclopean walls, the Lion Gate (main entrance to the fortress) with two lions as a relief in the stone above the gate, and the legendary dome tombs. There is also a small museum with various artifacts. Since 1999 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But it is a ruin, and it requires a lot of imagination on my part.

Then south, chasing the sun. When I arrived at the old shipwreck, I couldn't believe my eyes, so many campers were there. But okay, we'll go along with it. Birgit and Thomas (we were also together at the campsite) also drove here, and boom, I also spotted Jürgen. Welcome van life. This is good for Burki, he likes to have a chat.
