Adventure vacation in the Azores

How did I come up with the Azores as a holiday destination!? Honestly, I don't really know. After being able to explore a lot of the world in recent years (Canada, USA, Thailand, Australia, Africa), this year's summer vacation shouldn't be too far away. So preferably in Europe.

After Greece, Italy and Spain, we wanted to go "somewhere else" - where it's not so hot. We are active vacationers - just lying on the beach is not really our thing.

See a little something, explore the area, maybe do water sports....

During my Google image search, I eventually came across a photo of the crater lakes of São Miguel Island in the Azores. The path high up with a view of the turquoise blue lakes - and I was enchanted. After some internet research, the idea of ​​the Azores had also gained a lot of interest among the whole family:

Sea and landscape for mom, water sports and thermal bath for dad and the kids? They would love to take a surfing course.

In autumn 2019, we booked 2 weeks in the Azores - flight with SATA (Air Azores) and 2 accommodations on 2 islands - a holiday home in the Eco Resort on Terceira and an apartment on the beach of Santa Barbara in the eponymous Eco Resort on São Miguel.

Perfect!
