Panorama & Pizza

Friday morning: The house is shaking and we look worriedly over the edge of our coffee cups. 'Western wind is the wildest' murmurs Ola… shortly afterwards - power outage. And power outage here means: no electricity, no hot water, no internet, no mobile phone reception. Fortunately, it was a sunny day, so we could do the most necessary work in the barns and sheds even without light. But what then? 'Let's go hunting!' Einy grins at me. Okaaaaay, let's go. The tiny, beautiful Einy looks like an army elf in her hunting outfit. But today only the pastime version: with the rifle on the back seat we drive around and look for new elk tracks in the snow. We find them, but outside the hunting area. But since we were already heading in that direction, we visit a friend of Einy's, Tina. Tina is about 60 years old, born in Munich, and lives alone in an old farmhouse in the forest with 8 Icelandic horses and an Arabian mix. There she studies the behavior of horses, the intelligence of plants, and creates the craziest things. Yup, sounds weird, it is. But I find her extremely likable and interesting! :) Since the house was still paralyzed when we returned home and the little ones would soon be hungry coming from kindergarten, we decided to get pizza. However, getting pizza here involves a 2-hour drive on a mountain road in the national park to the nearest larger town, Ringebu. So there is plenty of time to listen to Norwegian metal and enjoy a breathtaking view. In the evening, the power luckily came back on and we rushed into the showers. Today, Saturday, we are invited to dinner at Ola's parents' house and tomorrow a lamb will be slaughtered for the neighbor - in return for being allowed to use his field for the animals. Ola asked me if I would like to choose the lamb, but even though I participate in everything else - I gladly leave this horrible task to him ;)
