In the morning, the thick clouds still hang over the mountains. Should we start our hike on the ridge? We can't really decide.
That's why we first visit the monument of the robber Jurai Janosik, who was born here in the village Terchova. This Slovak national hero is the Robin Hood of the Carpathian Mountains, who took from the rich and gave to the poor. He died in 1713 at the age of 25 in Liptovky Mikulas on the gallows.
Then we drive a few kilometers to the cable car station in the Vratna Valley, as the clouds are already clearing the mountain ridge.
Soon we have reached about 700 meters higher with the Doppelmayer cable car and first take out our wind jackets and wrap ourselves in them, because it is only about 10°C and the wind is blowing hard. Today our ridge hike will not be very long, but we still want to make it to the summit of Chleb (1647 m).
Then we return to the cable car mountain station and warm up for lunch in the snack bar with cola and pea soup before we take off again. After all, we have now hiked on the Fatra ridge.
So we are back in Terchova earlier than planned, check into the hotel for a little Sunday afternoon rest, and take a relaxed stroll through the village again in the afternoon, now in warm sunny weather. Almost a day of relaxation - before our journey continues tomorrow.
