Sniffing a bit of Salzkammergut

Today we start the day with a city stroll in Krems, where an impressive old town awaits us.

Afterwards, the driving stage is relatively short and takes us to Salzkammergut in Vorchdorf for our last night on this trip. The weather luck has finally left us, thick rain clouds hang over the mountains and it has noticeably become cooler. Our booked B&B is a pleasant surprise in every way, an immaculately clean modern building with a friendly and open-minded owner awaits us, everything is perfect. We check in at noon and soon after we drive to Gmünden, about 20 km away, to Traunsee, where Salzkammergut clichés can come true.

With the latent danger of rain, we stroll along the lake promenade of this spa and holiday resort, armed with umbrellas, an ice cream coffee can also be had, all a pleasant experience.

For our last dinner in Austria, we have to drive a few more kilometers to the neighboring village of Vorchdorf, after that we spend a very peaceful night in the B&B.
