A dream day on a dream beach

Today is a day of relaxation at the beach. The sun is shining from the postcard sky and the storm has subsided. After a good night's sleep, we have breakfast on our terrace.

Gisela and Günther then go to the beach to swim. They actually want to snorkel as well, but unfortunately that's not possible. The wind is still too strong and the water is too cold. That's a shame because the Ningaloo Reef extends almost to the beach here. It is a World Heritage Site and offers a fantastic underwater world. Unlike the Great Barrier Reef, it is smaller but has the advantage that in some places you can admire corals and colorful fish directly from the beach. So you don't have to go out to sea first.

Gerhard and I actually want to take a ride on the glass-bottom boat, but that's also canceled because of the wind. That's why we take a long walk along the beach to the “nursery” of the reef sharks. This is a bay where numerous young sharks frolic in the shallow water between November and March. Will we be lucky enough to see them? At first, we only see stingrays. They dart past us in a flash or lie buried in the sand. You have to be careful not to step on them. But a little further on, there they are - the baby reef sharks. They swim in groups very close to us, back and forth. Gerhard can't take enough photos and I stand there in awe. It's a unique experience. And then there's the sea with its fantastic colors from turquoise to dark blue - simply wonderful!

Then we slowly stroll back and meet Gisela and Günther on the beach. They don't want to miss out on this unique experience with the reef sharks either. We stay on the beach and Gerhard also goes into the water.

So a dream day passes by relaxed on a dream beach.
