After enjoying the morning view with the incredible surf, we headed towards Lisbon. The road serpentines always along the coast, through some smaller towns. In Cascais, we made a short stop, actually to see a fortress that caught our attention. However, we couldn't get in because it is used for military purposes.
Arrival in Belem, a district of Lisbon, around noon. We didn't expect to find a suitable parking space, but we were incredibly lucky right away. Thanks to a nice parking attendant at the Torre de Belem, we are now right on the Rio Tejo with a great view of the suspension bridge that crosses the Tejo and the Christ statue.
We then visited the Torre de Belem (unfortunately only from the outside) and the district with the former monastery (also closed), with the best weather (20 degrees and sunny). The large monument for Henry the Navigator is scaffolded and unfortunately only partially visible. But the place where we are standing has compensated us for everything, we enjoyed the view for a long time.
