Hells Bells in Jardin

יצא לאור: 24.01.2019

We followed the invitation of Julis' school friend Luisa (as well as husband Ricardo and baby Samuel) and drove together with them to Jardin, which is 3 hours away. However, we stayed in different hotels, as we preferred to stay in the town center and be more independent. It was very interesting to learn more about life in Medellin from them.

Jardin is a quite small village that mainly relies on tourism and coffee cultivation. So the coffee tasted particularly good. 😉 The village was once again very colorful. In my opinion, only the church didn't really fit into the picture. By the way: since our hotel was so centrally located, we heard the damn church bells ringing all night long. I would have loved to send the church to hell. Once again...

To wake up properly, we went for a swim in a pretty cold river on the first day. The path there led us through the green nature, past coffee and mostly still unknown fruits to me. 🙈😃 The subsequent attempt to eat Trucha (fish) in a renowned restaurant failed due to the eternal waiting time for a table. You could even catch your own food from the pond there. 🤷🏼‍♂️

On the last day, we went paragliding on one of the surrounding mountains. The way there was already adventurous, as we were only standing on the rungs of the jeep and had to hold on tight on the shaky road up. On the way down, we were even 12 people in or on the small jeep. Well... Colombia... but our view while gliding was very beautiful. 😃 In the afternoon, we went for a hike with a quasi private guide and took, among other things, an old privately built "cable car". Especially interesting was a cave full of bats. After all, Batman's friends are also my friends. 😂
