Hello from the USA,
Yesterday I took off to the USA. At the gate during my layover in Warsaw, I was pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to business class. Thanks to a total of two four-course meals, delicious wine and cocktails, and a seat that could be converted into a complete bed, I arrived in Chicago after a nine-hour flight feeling very well-rested. Unfortunately, my lucky streak ended there. At the border control, there were only five policemen and since 'America First' is already being very successfully implemented here, I had to wait three hours at the border. Somewhere, though understandable, we all know the dangers that German tourists pose.
Due to the wait, I missed my bus to Indianapolis to see Sean and ended up checking into a hostel for the night. Today, Sean's mother Lori will pick me up from a Chicago suburb. Before that, I had the time for a little city walk. Fortunately, the Windy City didn't live up to its name today, but instead greeted me with sunny weather and summer temperatures. Of course, I also visited Chicago's meeting point for all tourists, the Cloud Gate, which quickly revealed itself to be a boringly shaped piece of metal for the clever Documenta connoisseur. A walk-in picture frame is much cooler...
By the way, in the USA right now, Adiletten with white tennis socks are the latest trend among hipsters. I think I'll specialize in exporting tile tables, Schalke jerseys, and Ballermann hits.
Best regards,
Felix
