From the city of millionaires Singapore, we went overnight to the city of millionaires Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. But from the beginning:
On the third and final day in Singapore, we took a look at the Formula 1 track, walked through the Garden by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. In Chinatown, we went to a fish spa and had our feet massaged by the so-called doctor fish. They are small fish that nibble off the old skin on the feet and thus cleanse them. It was really funny and afterwards we both had very soft feet. Finally, we bought some souvenirs and had a delicious dinner.
At around 8 p.m. we headed to the airport, even though our flight didn't leave until 1:45 a.m., but in Singapore there is a large pool on the roof of Terminal 1 where you can refresh yourself before or between flights. Of course, we took advantage of this, as we had been walking around the city all day. It was really cool to relax in the whirlpool between the departing planes. Finally, at 2 a.m. we finally took off for Dubai with a little delay. We tried to sleep a lot, but due to some turbulence and the good air conditioning in the plane, we only partly succeeded. After a 7-hour flight, we landed in Dubai and went directly to the hotel, hoping to be able to go straight to our room and get some sleep. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and we went into the city center to have a proper breakfast. (The food on the plane was not really good)
What we immediately noticed: Dubai is also a very very big city and very modern, according to the motto: "Big, bigger, Dubai". It is also much hotter here than in Thailand and Singapore. In the midday sun, you felt like you were being roasted and you could only bear it for a long time in air-conditioned rooms. (They are available almost everywhere here) Since we were still a little tired from the flight, we just visited the Dubai Mall (the largest shopping center) and took a few pictures of the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world). In the evening, we just had dinner and then went to bed to catch up on some sleep from the night before, because tomorrow another exciting and hot day awaits us.
