As we had already decided, we drove over to Napier to see the sun. Back via Taupō, we had to drive quite a bit.
We immediately took a break at the Central Farmers Market, which was like a small fair; with food trucks and music. There was hangi food for Benny and a crepe for me.
Sated, we drove through the woods over to Napier. We made a spontaneous stop at a fruit plantation and had delicious apricots, peaches and “Eiskalt” (ice cream) for us.
Brookfields Vineyard was our first small winery and it did not disappoint. Shortly before closing time we got a little tasting from a nice lady. The wines were very dry but we found a white one. Benny wanted to try another red one and didn't choose the most expensive one and then she opened it and gave us the bottle without further ado, even though we wanted to buy it, but we shouldn't drive around with such an expensive bottle :D well :D but we should drink it today.
When I arrived at our freedom campground on the beach, I was satisfied:
The sound of waves, SUNSHINE and a bright blue sky - and the gift of wine. I actually liked it and I don't really like red wine. Good decision here :) I love it
