First week: Cusco

יצא לאור: 28.06.2018

I love Cusco! At first, I had a bit of a headache and difficulty breathing, or rather, breathing was a bit heavy. But since yesterday, I don't have any more headaches and no more "pressure" on my chest. However, when I walk a lot, especially uphill and downhill, I still feel the altitude a bit. Also, you have to be careful when opening a bottle or a yogurt, as everything is under pressure. Sometimes you are completely out of breath even though you didn't expect it. For example, on Monday I cooked broccoli, but because it was still too hot to eat, I blew on it and then I was completely out of breath 😄.

My school is a 30-minute walk away. Plaza de Armas is about a 20-minute walk, so my apartment is perfectly in the middle.

My school is even smaller than in Lima, so no activities are organized in the afternoon. In my class, there were only one American and me this week. However, the American didn't come for 2 out of 4 days, so I basically had 2 days of private lessons. Of course, it was very tiring but really effective. Tomorrow is a holiday here, so I won't have school. On Saturday, I'll take a trip, my first trip alone. But I'm confident because I can already speak a bit of Spanish now and the destination is definitely fantastic.

This week, I finally bought two tickets for Machu Picchu at the beginning of August 😍.

This week, I will explore the city a bit. I have made a list of sights in Cusco and weekend trips, so I can visit everything step by step like in San Francisco and not see everything in just one week. Also, next week, my friend from Holland, whom I met in Lima, will come, and we have already planned some trips together.

In general, I can say that Cusco is definitely a great place to stay for another 6 weeks!
