Well, short by Canadian standards. In Germany, over 300km is a longer trip, but here it's just a hop, skip, and a jump. We left on Wednesday evening because my roommates wanted to finish work first, not until almost five. Unfortunately, we couldn't see much of the landscape on the way there because it got dark shortly after we started.
Thanks to a friend of my roommate, we were able to sleep in a hotel just outside of Tofino for $50 a night.
We picked the perfect time for our trip, Thursday morning greeted us with beautiful sunshine. After three weeks of rain in Victoria, it was a real highlight!
We went to the Beachfront Bistro at the Best Western Hotel for breakfast, of course with a stunning view of the ocean ;)
Afterwards, we explored the town. Tofino is small and cute. Surfer shops and little stores everywhere. It's super busy in the summer, but quiet and peaceful this time of year.
After our stroll through the town, we really wanted to go to the beach, so we drove to Long Beach. The beach reminded me a bit of the mudflats, it was low tide and we could walk far out.
After an hour at the beach and a quick stop at the hotel, we headed to the next beach. We wanted to watch the sunset at Chesterman Beach - it was gorgeous!!!
Had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the next morning we were already heading back to Victoria. This time in daylight, so we could enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
