New Zealand Country No. 14

3.2. - 6.2.

Our friend Hamish, whom we know from Hanoi, picks us up from the airport.

In the morning we have a fantastic breakfast:

Bread with butter, salami, cheese,.. and we had a little champagne too..

Incredible....

The next few days we spend sightseeing. We walk or cycle around, take the ferry to Auckland, go to the museum and eat burgers.

It smells like sea, salt and fish..ahh !!

Today we are driving to a beach by car, going hiking and swimming...

The beach or rather the beaches are west of Auckland. 'Bethells Beach'.

It is beautiful and there are many bays. Behind it is all green and if you continue walking there, you come into a jungle, suddenly you are on a pasture and after that you are in the middle of the black dunes.. Incredible!

I am already in love with this country.

Another advantage is that the days are finally getting longer again...while it was already dark at 6pm in Vietnam and Nepal, it is still bright and sunny here.

In the evening we are invited to dinner at mom's...

From tomorrow we will start cycling and Hamish will accompany us for 5 days...
