New Zealand - North Island

New Zealand.

Full of anticipation, we arrived at Auckland airport after a short flight, where Roman's father (Ernst) was already waiting for us. The next three weeks we traveled as a group of three. We were very grateful for the fresh travel breeze! Adventure vacation is on the agenda!

We explored:

*City tour in Auckland and surrounding island (Waiheke Island)

*Short hike to Mount Maunganui in Tauranga

*Flight over an active volcano (White Island)

*Rotorua (Geysers, Skywalk at night in the Redwoods, Zipline over waterfalls, Summer tobogganing, Zorb ball, Speedboat ride, Indoor skydiving and Maori culture)

*Matamata (Guided tour including dinner at Hobbiton Movie Set)

*Lake Taupo (Jetboat tour, Boat trip to Maori carving, first attempts at golf, swimming in icy rivers)

*Raglan (Waitomo Glowworm Caves)

*Whangarei (Hiking tours to waterfalls + swimming, stalactite cave)

What characterizes the North Island are thousands of waterfalls, many forests and beautiful, secluded beaches.

The time flew by, but now we are ready for the South Island. On January 27th, we flew to the South Island to Christchurch.
