Tsunami Museum, police boat and upset stomach!

પ્રકાશિત: 03.12.2018

Today, there were supposed to be pictures of the Similan Islands here, but unfortunately we haven't been able to take the trip yet. You eat at every street food stall and don't even have any issues with your stomach, but then you go to a restaurant and bam, you get sick. We went out to eat last night and I was still feeling fine, but then during the night and throughout the day, I couldn't stop thinking about the fried rice chicken dish I had. Well, at least 90% of all Asia travelers get affected, that's somewhat reassuring :-D

Of course, Dennis didn't have any problems with the food and was able to take care of me!

The hotel noticed that I wasn't feeling well and they were super concerned and attentive, they brought tea and flowers. Now I'm starting to feel better and I'm sure the sleep will resolve the rest. At least my day in the hotel room was rewarded with a beautiful sunset!

Yesterday, we spent the beautiful sunny morning by the pool and then went to the Tsunami Museum and the accompanying police boat. It's just crazy how much damage the tsunami caused back then and how many lives it took.

Afterwards, we went to the Sunday market in Khao Lak Village, it's possible that the impressions there upset my stomach. Unrefrigerated meat, pig heads, pig legs, and all sorts of other stuff. Flies everywhere and a disgusting smell, I would have liked to take pictures but I didn't want to get any closer. Makes you wonder how the Thai people's stomachs can handle it.

Depending on how it looks tomorrow, we'll be heading to the waterfalls in Khao Lak and we definitely want to visit the turtle farm!

Best regards to everyone!
