Huatulco announced itself early in the morning with the fine smell of a decomposing landfill. Shortly afterwards, we arrived. After breakfast, we went on a birdwatching excursion.
The excursion was so-so. We were actually too late, even for Mexican birds, and the tour guides were not convincing. Nevertheless, we managed to take a few boring photos.
In the afternoon, we walked through the town. It is a typical Mexican village, with a Plaza Mayor in the center. The houses are mostly in good condition. It seems to be a rather affluent place for Mexico. At the market, we each bought a T-shirt and then walked back along the beach to the ship. There, we rested on deck and by the pool, and soon we will get ready for dinner. By then, the ship will also depart towards Cabo San Lucas at the southern tip of Baja California.
