Two days by car from the West Coast to the East Coast and across the country. Passing by beautiful places and landscapes. On Saturday afternoon, I drove from Auckland to Piha, stopping to quickly buy some toast bread, water, and a thick sleeping bag. At the campsite, I was welcomed by an elderly, very nice lady (Fiona), who explained and showed me everything. After checking in, I looked for my pitch. Then I went to the stunning beach for a walk along the sea over the cliffs. The first night in the car was a bit hard, interrupted by rain, but otherwise warm and pleasant. In the morning, I quickly showered and headed back to the beach, from there it was first to the Kite Kite Waterfalls, a 30-minute hike along the river through the jungle. -Paradise-
From there I continued towards the East Coast. A stop at Pack and Save for some toast bread to go. Then to the breathtaking Tawharanui beach on a peninsula on the East Coast. Therefore, it was also the first time on a light sandy beach with not so strong waves. I spent the afternoon on the beach and even camped at a great campsite just 100 meters from the sea. The highlight was taking a swim all by myself for the first time. Even though the water was still very cold, it was beautiful.
The next morning, I woke up to glorious sunshine and the chirping of birds. The first thing I did was, of course, go back into the water; I simply couldn't resist the gorgeous beach, and I had it all to myself.
Then I packed everything up and headed to the farm. On the way, I checked out 3 more great spots and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day. Particularly impressive were the 'Weipu Caves' in the middle of nowhere.
