Taufers, Graun am Reschensee

પ્રકાશિત: 25.10.2019

This morning the announced good weather was still in its pajamas, but as the morning progressed, it turned into a picture-perfect autumn day. This morning I had to go up to the monastery again. The detailed book about the crypt had to come home with me. After that, we went for a relaxed shopping trip to Mals. It would be a shame if we didn't get any Coppa! And guess what, they had a whole Coppa at the deli counter in Spar! We swiftly divided the almost 2kg into 3 parts and vacuum-sealed them...and be happy for a while :-) Afterwards, we headed straight to the Münstertal, with Taufers Castle being our first stop.

Unfortunately, there was no billiards café here (which Gerhard was so eager to find...no, just kidding). Unfortunately, neither billiards nor café :-( So we continued...and suddenly we were at the border with the Swiss. Okay, U-turn.

In St. Michael, there was something special that made us laugh :-)
Looks like someone didn't survive the sermon...

We returned to Laatsch for the Laatscher Herbstmarkt (Autumn Market).

There were many nice stalls with local products, and we managed to get a beautiful cherry wood board. Relaxation with a homemade Tiramisu in a reusable Mascarpone cup with several South Tyrolean unique duos...okay, the bassist could have practiced more... To finish off, we had a bag of hot chestnuts before continuing the journey.

We looked like chimneysweeps afterwards, but it didn't matter because we didn't intend on dining with the Chancellor.

After that, we headed home for lunch break.

In the afternoon, we went to Graun am Reschensee.

The partially submerged old church tower is a silent memorial. 1000 people had to leave their homes (without compensation!) before the flooding of the lake.

On the way back, we had a breathtaking view of the Ortler mountain!

Tomorrow we'll be heading home again. It was lovely in South Tyrol!!
