26th February Stratford - New Plymouth

Originally, we wanted to go on a hiking tour at Mt Taranaki, but as we drive to our starting point, there is nothing to see but gray. It's raining and it doesn't look like it's going to get better. Deciding quickly, we change direction and drive to the other side of the mountain, to the sea, along the Surf Highway. Yes, and here the weather is on our side, it's getting better and more and more the blue sky is coming through. The mountain, no, we don't see that, it's completely in the clouds. Now we are back at the Tasman Sea and it is not as wild and untamed as we got to know it on the west coast of the South Island.

In New Plymouth we also have a nice accommodation, right by the sea. Oh, really beautiful.....
