The last day in Indonesia and also the last day in Asia and in the warmth (for now). After sleeping in, we pack our things, and surprisingly, it's not a problem to fit everything into the one booked baggage. The second backpack is made as small as possible so that it can be carried as hand luggage. Then we check out and kindly leave our things in the reception area. We go in search of breakfast, and because we really feel like something hearty that has nothing to do with rice or noodles, we return to an Italian restaurant around the corner after a long search, which offers English breakfast. Everything is incredibly delicious, and with fresh fruit and a game, it's the perfect day on the very last day. As agreed yesterday, we make our way to the tattoo studio. Typical German, we arrive fifteen minutes before the appointment and accordingly wait for half an hour for the tattoo artist. While waiting, the other guys offer us coffee and tea several times. Then it starts! Well, more or less, they really make an effort, and after the tattoos are made in Photoshop, then printed out, and finally drawn on Alex's arm four times with an angel's patience, until everything is just right, it really starts. After the first ten minutes, I am pretty bored, even though everyone tries to keep me entertained (asking several times why I don't want a tattoo) and even playing our requested music. So I throw myself into the tourist shopping street one last time and get the last small souvenirs. When I come back, the first of the two tattoos is finished, and five minutes later, so is the second one. Really crazy how quickly you can do something that will be with you forever.

So that's done, and freshly decorated, we go to Carrefour to make one last attempt at finding a jacket. And actually, we find one and even get provisions on the side (because the Möller/Kurz family never embarks on a journey without sandwiches for the ride). Back at the hotel, we relax by the pool for a moment and then call a taxi to the airport. Unfortunately, there's heavy traffic, and it takes almost an hour for our driver to arrive, well, we did build in quite a lot of buffer in case there were any problems with the luggage. So we arrive at the airport a little bit under time pressure, change clothes, and pack the last few things from one backpack into the other. At the counter, there are no problems at all, and the hurdle of "luggage," which we almost have ready, is easily cleared. Our extended visa is also easily approved at the immigration office, and we can board the plane to Australia. Goodbye Asia! The farewell is surprisingly difficult; it already feels like a little end of the journey, even though we're extremely excited for New Zealand. We will definitely come back someday and think back a lot about the four months here!
