I had booked a city tour for 11 a.m. and set off over an hour beforehand.
Vigo is a very lively city with an eventful history, which is evidenced by impressive buildings and ruins and which our tour guide Jorge ("You can also call me George") introduced us to.
After 2 1/4 hours we landed close to the ship. Jorge gave us some sightseeing, restaurant and shopping tips. A special feature of this tour: There was no fixed price. Everyone could tip what they thought the tour was worth.
I immediately implemented one of Jorge's tips and visited the monument to the writer Jules Verne, whom I admire.
Afterwards I wanted to visit a restaurant that we had passed during the tour. Specialty: octopus and squid. It was not easy to find in the winding streets, but I finally succeeded. My friends Judi and Jody greeted me from the terrace of this restaurant and I sat down with them. After octopus with Galician cheese and sangria, the three of us set off home, visiting several shops along the way.
A towel bat was waiting for me in my cabin. I lay down for a "short" time, but didn't wake up again until around 8 p.m. The day was ruined. No dinner, no music.
