In Coolangatta we had to walk to our accommodation again, but this time uphill! And that in the midday heat and with my heavy bag. After the little workout, we rested and read. We read a lot here because our accommodation didn't have Wi-Fi. But it was also good for a change. Afterwards, we explored the city. We went to the shopping center and then went back inside to read. In the evening, we were greeted by the owner of the house. She passionately paints pictures. She also told us many interesting stories about them. She had thought out every single detail of her paintings.
The next day was Australia Day. There were a lot of people at the beach celebrating their national holiday. Many had a BBQ and enjoyed the sun. The most important thing seemed to be to get as many Australian flags as possible. From hair ribbons to flags on cars, everything was represented. We went to a lookout in Tweed Heads and to Point Danger & Snapper Rocks. The view was fantastic and we even saw dolphins. After that, we spent the day at the beach and read a lot again.
The next day we headed to Byron Bay. The host kindly took us to the bus stop. Unfortunately, we realized that we had left our bottles in the house. After a sprint by Ben and another delivery by the host, Ben, our bottles, and I were ready for our bus to Byron Bay.
