22.9. Tromsø

Morning heavy rain, later occasionally sunny but windy, evening rain and storms.

Today we are exploring the culture, visiting the cathedral in the morning, and the small art museum with contemporary North Norwegian art.

While strolling through the main shopping street, Gondula buys a traditional Norwegian sweater - wat mutt dat mutt.

After buying fresh, non-frozen fish - a rarity in Norway - in a coastal market hall, we walk back to the apartment for lunch.

In the afternoon, we visit the Polar Museum with exhibitions about the history of polar exploration and survival in the polar region, such as hunting all the animals living here. We find this aspect a bit creepy, but thankfully most animal species are now protected.

Tromsø has always been a center and starting point for all kinds of Arctic expeditions.

In the afternoon, the wind gets stronger and we spend a cozy evening at home.
