Pai: a small cozy hippie village in the mountains of Thailand, where I spent a week relaxing and eating incredibly well!
After 4 weeks of action, my body and mind were craving for rest. In Pai, I was able to slow down easily and most of the time, I made myself comfortable on my balcony with a hammock and by the natural pool, while reading my book (Hunter, Shepherd, Critic by Richard David Precht - highly recommended!). In Pai, you can also eat incredibly well, there are a few alternative restaurants with purely vegetarian cuisine and of course the classic Thai cuisines, which have even developed an awareness of vegan food here. Pai was the first place where I was asked if I wanted eggs in my meal or if I was notified if something was made with fish sauce.
Here, I also made a great acquaintance with Hans and Waltraud, my neighbors in the "Pairadise" guesthouse, and had very stimulating and interesting conversations. I will never forget them! Thanks to them, I also found many good local restaurants.
On the last day in Pai, I spontaneously took a yoga class, which gave me a lot and was one of the most peaceful and meditative moments of the entire trip (or even so far) for me. I haven't been able to get that relaxed in a long time...
Conclusion of Pai: it was fantastic and the people here were so warm-hearted! No wonder Hans and Waltraud come here every year.
