#33 Costa Brava

December 3-4, 2021: Roses

In Roses, we went to a campsite to have a "household day". So, we did laundry, tidied up, cleaned, did office work, etc. As you can see, even such annoying chores are not skipped by us. There is only one difference: after doing the household chores, we went to the beach of Costa Brava. 😉 It was already evening and from afar, we could only hear the booming of a big drum or bass drum. As we approached the mysterious sound, brass players joined in and we found ourselves in front of a small combo consisting of 4 saxophones, 4 trombones, 3 trumpets, and 3 drummers. They played various popular songs or party hits, surrounded by numerous onlookers. In one song, the audience was encouraged to walk left or right in rhythm, move their arms in a Macarena-style move, or simply sing certain words along with the man. And as I found, surprisingly many people did that. Because over half of the approximately 100 people present immediately joined in. After a while, the band moved on and the entire audience followed. The volume in the narrow streets was deafening, and almost every window or door had a head of a resident sticking out to see what was happening down on the street.
