From the sunny island of Fehmarn we went to Denmark in our motorhome.

Ferry trip from Puttgarden to Rødby

With its 1200 km², Lolland is the largest island in the southeast and the ferry from Puttgarden docks here in Rødby every half hour.

Maribo

Immediately after arriving we drove north to the small town of Maribo.

Maribo City Hall

In addition to some pretty houses in the old town, the cathedral, which once belonged to the town's Birgitten monastery, was particularly worth seeing.

Today, however, only remnants of the wall can be seen from where the nuns lived.

We continued walking around the lake until we reached the town's open-air museum.

There you can explore how simple people lived on Lolland-Falster 250 years ago.

The houses here have been collected in this location for almost 100 years and stand on a small but beautifully landscaped site.

In the forest we also met a troll on the way who was guarding the path.

Since the sun was still shining, even though the temperatures were a little cooler, we continued walking along the lake and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

We chose a parking space in the town of Bandholm to spend the night.

The parking space was located directly on the water and now in autumn there was still plenty of space here.

We explored the small town on an evening walk.

Bandholm

In summer, a museum railway connects Bandholm with Maribo. However, it takes almost half an hour to cover the 8 kilometers...
