Before we headed home on Sunday, we drove a little further along the Great Ocean Road so that I could get a better impression :)
More specifically, we drove to the 'Eage Rock Marine Sanctuary' (area: Aireys), about an hour away from Anglesea. There is a lighthouse ('Split Point Lighthouse'), also known as 'The White Queen', directly in the surfer area, and three platforms on the cliffs - we had a beautiful view from there! Unfortunately, we couldn't take a tour of the lighthouse because the little one was sleeping and we only made a short stop, but you can get a great impression in the video on their homepage - http://splitpointlighthouse.com.au/
From the platforms, you have a great view of the ocean and the Egle Rock, a narrow sandstone rock right in front of the bay. Unfortunately, it was quite windy and difficult to take pictures of ourselves;)

Unfortunately, the weather got worse the further we drove, and we decided to stop in a small town right on the beach to have lunch. The drive was still really worth it, and I'm very grateful that my host parents made the trip possible for me and made such an effort to show me the area :) However, it's difficult to have the kids in the car for so long, so we headed back after eating!
