This morning our journey to the upcoming destination was surprisingly short. After about a 3-minute drive, we had already arrived at Wilderness National Park. Here we wanted to paddle along a river with a kayak and then go on a short hike to two small waterfalls. Said and done! After some initial uncertainty in our rather wobbly double kayak, the pace quickly picked up after a short adjustment. To be honest, we were a bit amazed at how well we managed to do it🤣 During the trip, we were constantly rewarded with great landscape views all around and the delightful sound of birds chirping. Wilderness National Park is known for its abundant birdlife. We paddled along the river until we couldn't go any further and then docked with our kayak. This happened after about 45 minutes of paddling. Afterwards, we embarked on a hike of about 45 minutes to the two waterfalls located in the national park. Although these waterfalls are not particularly high, we still found this to be a very worthwhile tour!
After this sporty event, we drove to the so-called 'Map of Africa' with our rental car. This is an observation platform from which you can see a section of land that resembles the outline of the African continent (see photo). Quite amusing when you consider that this section is of natural origin. A quick visit to the nearby beach was a must before we drove back to our accommodation. Here, we took some time to relax before tomorrow's ziplining tour in the rainforest. I'm already a bit excited😮
