Day 10 World Heritage Day

પ્રકાશિત: 03.04.2018

Today, three excursion destinations were on the program, all of which are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

First, we were at the Bulguksa Temple complex ("Buddha land temple"). It is the representative temple of the Silla Empire, designed according to the ideal concept of a kingdom on earth created by the historical Buddha. Buddhism was not only the state religion, but also the state philosophy and ideology in the Silla period (Source: visitnorea.co.kr).

Then we went to the Seokguram Grotto, where a huge Buddha statue is located. The cave was artificially created and shows how skillful the Silla period was. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed there.

Lastly, we visited the Yangdong Village. The village consists of both still inhabited Hanok houses and old houses of the Joseon period, which are over 200 years old.

Tomorrow, we will take the train back to Seoul.
