Oluf and I tried sailing again, we failed the last time due to a rather stormy sea.
The sea was super calm and we arrived very fast at our destination Tangalooma. It is a very expensive beach resort on a massive sand island but if you're sailing, you can anchor there for free.
The main thing about the place are the shipwrecks. 50 years ago the government sunk on purpose ships there to create an artificial reef and attract tourists - with great success! The reef is amazing.
The shipwrecks created a very cool atmosphere (and a very cool reef).
I also create videos. Not one or two, rather 30 clips. Don't ask, please, I've been VERY enthusiastic. So enthusiastic that I actually bothered to create a 30 minute clip as a 'best of'. I'm lacking the cloud space to load that up at the moment, so if anyone is interested in seeing it, shoot me a message and I'll send it privately on a messenger.
Here is a short clip of what to expect:

Oh and I have seen a turtle! She just appeared there and I could follow for a little bit. When I tried to dive down to get closer to her, she got frightened and left me (a little bit sad) behind.
Snorkeling was A DREAM. I immediately looked up if I should buy snorkeling equipment (and a GoPro, these things are FUN!) for New Zealand but since the water is cold there I also would need a wetsuit and decided to rent the stuff if I want to do that there. Maybe I'll buy it in Vietnam.
On the next day I made some quiche since Dani said she loves it. Turned out good as always ✨✨
Then we got drunk with good whiskey and super good wine. I think this was the first wine I actually would put on par with a good beer! Drunk as we were, next stop was the valley. Brisbane's party area. We had tickets for infected mushroom, some electronic artist I really like and never saw live before. These guys totally rock. The concert was great, the two hours music before the main act and there was music until 5 in the morning but we left earlier. I was tired and my legs aren't used to dancing excessively anymore.
I didn't take any pictures from the gig itself but found this on the toilet and wanted to share with you guys.
Today, slightly hungover and tired, I went with Dani and a Chinese friend of hers (I would write his name 'Minh' which is probably terribly wrong) to an Australian zoo. He didn't speak any English so I just listened to a lot of Mandarin.
The zoo was specialized in cute, Australian animals so basically Koalas, Kangaroos, Platypus, Dingos and some birds.
While the photo is terrible, I shot a really nice video:

They are also incredibly cute and I think I like them even better than koalas 🤩
Kangaroos are usually very lazy when it's hot so they all just lie around and wait to be fed and petted by tourists like this.
But for no obvious reason, suddenly a Kangaroo frenzy started and at least 50 animals started running from one place to another through the confused tourists and I have it on tape!

The zoo was very cool, this was the gang:
The weather report for the next day looks pretty bad. I can't imagine it's going to rain so much here but we will see.
Anyway, I'll use the last sunny day tomorrow and go to some beautiful beaches. They are called 'fairy pools' and I'm already pretty excited!
So far so good, this time you guys got some real content. I have to admit I'm not writing so much anymore like I used to, even though it's fun when I'm on it.
Anyway, be nice to each other,
Laurin
PS: Check the photo section for more fish snorkeling pictures and hit me up if you want that 30-minute blockbuster of me snorkeling 🤣🤣
