For once, we didn't have a real assignment for today and decided to sleep in. Theoretically, we could have driven about three hours to El Chalten to visit Mount Fitz Roy, which is also very famous. However, since we had been constantly on the go for the past few days and wanted to process the many impressions a bit, we had a late breakfast and then went on a little tour through El Calafate. At Lago Argentino, we watched flamingos, drove along the lake promenade, and strolled through the parks. In a nice little restaurant by the lake, we tried Italian Piadina and a local beer. Both tasted excellent but also made us a bit lazy, which is why we took a short break at the hostel in the early afternoon. Returning the rental car was also easy, the car was already quite battered and scratched. Given the road conditions outside the towns, this is not surprising.
We would have liked to write and send a few postcards, but the postage of about €7 per piece to Germany was a small argument against it. At the supermarket, we stocked up on some snacks for the next day and got ravioli with tomato sauce for dinner. In terms of price, Argentina is relatively okay, although some groceries and eating out regularly can already add up over time.
Tired of doing nothing, we went to bed, as the next day the return journey to Chile was already planned.
