Changing beds

So, here I am again. It took quite a long time :D I have been in the new family for 1 ½ weeks now and I can already say with 100% certainty that I don't want to have 5 children in the future :D but let me start with last Sunday.

Originally, I was supposed to be picked up by a taxi in the afternoon at half past two, but it never arrived. Then my new host mother picked me up, luckily they came home earlier. But it was already six o'clock when she picked me up. In the evening, we went out for dinner and had burgers, typical American style :D

The next two days, I had free time to settle in and during that time, I got to know the two youngest ones very well. The three oldest ones were still at camp. The following days, I didn't really have to work :D I got to sleep longer and mostly played with the children and voluntarily helped with the household chores. Here, it is not expected of me and I don't have to do everything alone.

On Thursday, I was alone with the youngest one all day because the mother, with her daughter, picked up two of the three boys from camp. I had a break in between and went to Target :D it's a store that has a mix of everything and it's really amazing :D I could spend a whole day there :D

On Friday, we had a movie night with pizza and on Saturday, the last son came back with his father and the house was full and loud again :D

During the weekend, I had free time and finally managed to unpack my suitcases and set up my room :D I also had a driving lesson with a driving school and I was very glad when it was over because the instructor was really not good... but afterwards, I was taken to a family birthday party and it was really nice. The whole family is really nice and I was immediately welcomed nicely :)

On Monday and Tuesday, I had to work earlier for the first time because I was left alone with the children more often and really had to take care of them. But it will never be like in the other family here, because I am here to drive the children, play with them, and look after them when the parents are away, not to run the household.

Today, the world looked a bit different because school started. I drove the oldest one to school together with the father. Afterwards, I drove to the library with the youngest one. When we came back, I was supposed to have some free time, but something always came up, so I ended up working until the evening. I didn't have a problem with that, it was just really tiring and now I'm completely exhausted in bed and would like to sleep through the rest of the week :D

So, I feel really comfortable in this family and I feel much more accepted. Here, I am more a part of the family than an employee, which was not the case in the old family. I am very glad that I made the switch, even though it can be quite exhausting sometimes with five children aged 11 to 2 :D

I'm very sorry that this entry is so long and that it took me so long to get back to you... from now on, I will try to check in every Sunday to tell you a little bit about the past week. But I can't promise anything, because I know myself :D
