The day starts with instant coffee mmmmh...(well...) at the Motel, then a trip to the reception and then off to Susi's Sylt Kantine for a real coffee and some delicious sandwiches.
Then our walk begins, we walk to the beach and then we can walk a few kilometers along the beach via the boulevard, then we go through a beautiful dune landscape to the village of Kampen.
Here we will have coffee at the oldest nightclub in Germany! Fortunately, it is also open during the day because the coffee is good! The clientele is of the expensive kind.
Refreshed, we walk via the main road to List, unfortunately there is no other way to get there, but it is beautiful here as well.
If it starts raining after an hour and a half, we'll take shelter at the 'vogelnest' where we discover that there is no place for us on Sylt anymore, so a 'plan b' is quickly pulled out of the closet and a pension in Dagebüll is booked.
We continue for another 7km to List Hafen, the weather is beautiful again and it's still a beautiful environment!
Arriving in List, we sit on a bench to watch the fishing boats in the harbor, then we go to the Pirate's nest for a well-deserved beer and a delicious fish.
What a pleasure!
We go back by bus, buy another ticket for the train tomorrow, and then head to the motel.
We still have to repair the Pilgerwagen (fortunately, that goes quickly) and then blog and sleep....

The day starts with instant coffee at the Motel, mmmh...
Then to the reception to extend our stay - unfortunately without success, and then off to Susi's Sylt Kantine for a real coffee and bread rolls.
Then our hike begins. We walk towards the beach and along the boulevard for a few kilometers until we turn into a magnificent dune landscape accompanied by the enchanting scent of wild roses towards Kampen. Here we stop at the oldest nightclub in Germany, which fortunately is also open during the day, for a coffee. The coffee is very good, the clientele is rather more expensive.
Regained our strength, we continue towards List along the main road. Unfortunately, there is no other way, but the landscape is magnificent here as well. Besides Arnica, the fragrant roses, there are also heather (not flowering yet), wild delphinium, and lots of dune grasses to see. Sylt is a feast for the eyes, just a bit too expensive.
When it starts raining after an hour and a half, we take shelter in the 'Vogelnest'. Here we unfortunately have to realize once again that there is no more room for us on Sylt. We quickly come up with a plan B and book a pension in Dagebüll.
We continue for another 7 km to List Hafen, in the meantime the weather is nice again and the surroundings are still beautiful!
In List Hafen, by the way, there is a ferry to Denmark, we first sit on a bench to watch the fishing boats coming in and then go to the 'Piratennest' for a well-deserved beer and fish.
What a pleasure!
We return by bus (we have over 20 km in our legs), buy a ticket for the train the next day at the train station, and go to the motel.
We still have to repair the Pilgerwagen, which is done rather quickly, and then we blog and sleep. Tomorrow we start early again.
