63. Nestos Gorge

63. Day: Right after waking up, we set off to the Nestos Gorge. To our disappointment, a tourist bus with school children arrives just before us. But after the first viewpoint, we leave the group behind forever.

The next few hours lead us through a very peaceful alluvial and riparian forest area. At the beginning, we are accompanied by five stray dogs, one of them stays with us until almost the end. The path is initially well-built and runs along the river gorge. Later, it becomes more difficult, and at times we get a "jungle feeling". It's a very beautiful and recommendable excursion.

Afterwards, we drive to a viewpoint high above the gorge. Unfortunately, by then the sky has become overcast and the view is not so great anymore.

In the evening, we are alone at the extensive Erasmiou Beach.
