Last night during dinner time, there was a stormy downpour that didn't affect us, but caused trouble for the campers with tents. We watched the natural spectacle of heavy rain from the hotel lobby where there is WiFi reception. However, we had to go to the car and got soaked through and through. Along the way, we saw broken branches and a lot of water on the paths and roads, but fortunately, our car didn't get wet. In the morning, all the water has drained away.
This morning, we hike to Maron Waterfall and Lookout, a total of only 6 km round trip, but with a decent incline. We observe a shrew and a colorful lizard in the rainforest. Once again, we admire the large trees, strangler figs, and the dense rainforest. By the way, it is said that there was a super volcano, a hot spot, in this area during the formation of continents. It had the power to cause the separation of parts of the ancient continent Gondwana. There is hardly anything left of the caldera, but large lava balls testify to the power of the volcano. It is about 22 degrees and humid. Tomorrow we will continue our journey.
