It's that time again

પ્રકાશિત: 06.06.2019

It has been more than a year since our last big trip through Southeast Asia.

A lot has happened in the meantime: we turned 21, moved in together, even moved again within Cologne, and we both started our studies.

But we are still eager for a new travel adventure!
We need something new, something we haven't experienced before.

How about a country where we won't understand any signs, where even with English we will only be understood by a small part of the population?
How about a new continent for Jonas?
How about Morocco?

This idea came to us a while ago, but implementing it was not that easy. First and foremost, we were both increasingly tied up in appointments and an orderly life, especially Franzi with her dual studies in the tourism industry.
So the finding of a suitable date was the first problem we had to solve. After a lot of back and forth, we decided on June and the time around Pentecost. Franzi was able to take vacation during that period and Jonas has a week without lectures.
So we booked flights, unfortunately with RyanAir, but everything else didn't fit into our schedule or was simply too expensive. We will take off from Cologne/Bonn towards Marrakesh on June 7, 2019, around noon.

It didn't take long until we came up with the next idea: A rental car! A road trip through a foreign country!
Since we have now turned 21 and many car rental companies consider this age as their lower limit, it was clear for a while that we wanted to do this as early as possible. A rental car with a low deposit, which we can afford, is rather rare in Morocco, but Franzi was able to grab a bargain through her travel company, so we will be accompanied by a car in the category 'Fiat Panda or similar' on our way through mountains and deserts.

We don't have a specific route yet, we only know that we will start in Marrakesh and end in Fes. So far, we have only selected a few possible destinations for the route, which we want to visit if possible. This includes, for example, the Erg Chebbi desert in the east and Chefchaouen, the 'blue city' in the north of the country. Where exactly our route will take us will be a surprise to us as well, and we will report on it here!

We are full of anticipation for our next shared adventure, but for now, it's time to pack our backpacks...
We will update you from Morocco or with a summary after our trip!

Until then :D
