11.1. Today we make the decision to fly to Punta Arenas and return by rental car through Argentina. We are waiting for the rental car company's confirmation, changing the flight Punta Arenas- Puerto Montt to the opposite direction, and booking two nights near the airport to plan everything else calmly tomorrow, do laundry, and pack our backpacks. We accept the fact that we will lose the ticket for our flight to Panama without compensation, since Copa Airlines is unreachable and we cannot change the flight through the travel agency. After that, we drive back to Castro for lunch to dine again at this excellent restaurant from yesterday. We spend the two and a half hour drive back to the ferry port reading aloud, the crime novel we are reading is really exciting! (Nele Neuhaus: In Eternal Friendship) We only have to wait 10 minutes for the ferry and cross from Chiloé to the mainland. Since there is no gas station near the airport, we take a small detour via Puerto Montt before we search for the side street with our hotel. Once again, Google Maps doesn't really help us, as there are two hotels with the same name and both places are incorrectly marked. :) Two women finally help us find the right house, which is indeed not labeled. Stefi, our host, greets us with her dog and cat. She tells us to make ourselves at home in her apartment, which we do perfectly by cooking and hanging out in the living room with two bottles of wine.

12.1. We wake up with a "craggy" head, but nevertheless, we start to tick off our to-do list for today. We try to find a hotel in Punta Arenas and realize that no hotel has room for six days to wait for the rental car. That's when we come up with a crazy idea: If the weather is good, instead of booking tours in the Punta Arenas area, we could move by bus to Puerto Natales and then advance the W-Trek at Torres del Paine from there. Then return to Punta Arenas to pick up the rental car, three days late but still. We reserve the trek for admittedly a lot of money and hope that everything works out. In addition, two nights in a hostel in Punta Arenas. After that, we empty our car and throw everything in Stefi's garden. While I pack everything, Amelia cleans the inside of the car and starts washing. The car wash is also not far away and we quickly return and wait for the laundry to dry in the sun. Like yesterday evening, we get along great with Stefi and take the time to have good conversations with her in the sun. Samy the dog and Pulgocita (which means "Flea" in German) the cat are also part of the party. Tonight we go to bed a little earlier, but we still have to finish the last bottle of wine before the flight ;)
