Baltic Sea Vacation May 2021 Day 5

Today is Annika's birthday. We start the day with a walk at the bird sanctuary near our campsite and learn a lot about the local flora and fauna through the many information boards.

The weather forecast says that today will be the most beautiful and warmest day during our time at the sea. And so it was. We set up chairs and a table outside and today we have a classic beach day: reading a book, looking out at the sea, putting our feet in the Baltic Sea (Brrr, so cold, 9°C water temperature) and sunbathing. Of course, we also got a sunburn. In short, we had a nice, peaceful day at the campsite.

As evening approaches, we drive to the port of Burgstaaken and have dinner at a good fish restaurant. Mmmm, it was delicious. Afterwards, we take a little digestion walk in the harbor and see the submarine and a sea rescue cruiser of the DGzRS, which are hoisted up.

We drive back to the 'base camp', happily and satisfied, went to bed and watched another episode of 'The Walking Dead'.
