Kyoto means capital

On Sunday afternoon we continued to Kyoto. After we had moved into our apartment, we visited Nijo Castle. Unfortunately, we only had one hour because the grounds closed at 5 pm. Inside the castle, it was also not allowed to take photos and part of the park was closed due to Typhoon Jebi. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time here.

In the evening we met with 4 fellow students who happened to be in Kyoto at the same time. After a joint dinner, we visited Kyoto Tower together and looked at the illuminated staircase in Kyoto Station.

On Monday morning we left early to be at the bamboo forest before the big rush. At the beginning, we were all very disappointed because parts of the forest were damaged by the typhoon. Fortunately, this changed the deeper we went.

In the afternoon, we visited the Golden Temple and the Nishiki Market.

In the evening we went out for sushi together.
