Tag 40 and 41 Change of location on Sunday ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‘

Yesterday morning got up extra early and moved to the rooftop terrace. My mom turned 85, and I hoped so much that the internet would be good enough for a phone call. It worked, what a blessing.

In the morning we changed hostels, once again on foot. Good decision, it's just nicer here.

Today we wanted to spend the day completely relaxed. We separated for a few hours around noon. The hammocks at the hostel were occupied, so I walked along the beautiful beach, it's totally possible barefoot. That means something for me, I'm not really a barefoot runner. ๐Ÿ˜…. Took a break in between under a mangrove bush, I can't lie in the sun here. Then I observed some iguanas and met Farina on the beach.

Day 41

Today we chose a volcano tour. Unfortunately, everything has to be organized here. It wouldn't have been a problem to walk alone. The first part led to the Sierra Negra volcano. It is a shield volcano in the southeast of Isabela Island with a height of 1124 m. It is one of the most active volcanoes of the Galapagos Islands. The most recent eruption started in June 2018. The crater has a diameter of 10 km and is the second largest in the world. It's impressive to look into it from above.

Then we continued through a volcanic landscape formed by lava to the craters of the Chico volcano. The guide took us to a spot where hot air was still flowing out. The most recent eruption here was in 1979. At places like this, I always realize how powerful nature is. The weather wasn't optimal today with drizzle and mist. But......that's just nature. ๐Ÿ˜…
