Fraser Island

We booked a 3-day trip with Get Along Tours on Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. The program included driving with a 4x4 vehicle, various excursions on the island, and camping in the dingo-safe camp. The briefing took place the night before, where we were informed about what to bring and how to behave on the island. In addition, everyone was assigned to their vehicles, which we could drive around for three days. Our fear of getting into a black-red-gold car exclusively did not come true. They had already gathered beforehand and made sure that they all sit in the same vehicle. Hahaha

So we were in a car with two Swedes, two Dutch, two English, and one German (apparently not everyone has the urge to gather in groups). As it turned out later, we were a perfect team, and Rahel and I enjoyed every minute with them.

In Fraser Island, we visited two freshwater lakes, two creeks with crystal clear fresh water, and a shipwreck that stranded about 70 years ago.

In the evening, each group had to prepare their own food, which was a great opportunity to get to know the others better. Of course, there was also the occasional beer or some goon. You can imagine the rest. ;-)

Back on the mainland, we are already on the 957km way to Airlie Beach. In 4 days, our Whitsundays trip starts there. We will make a first stop in Hervey Bay.
