These are just a few pictures from Santiago. The pedestrian zones are crowded. During lunch break, people eat empanadas or drink coffee. Heat-resistant Chileans also like to play drums in the middle of an 8-lane road... Unfortunately, the mega flag nearby doesn't provide any shade.
The churches are rather plain, but they are visited throughout the day by believers and the Catholic Church plays a big role in everyday life. Some of the top universities are Catholic universities. The city is preparing for the visit of the Pope, who will be coming in a few days. In addition to the many Chileans, 800,000 Argentinians are expected. We are not sad that we will no longer be here then. It will certainly be a great event, but the city is already full of people.
One of the very popular leggings here (worn in every size) costs less than a bottle of juice, and there are seats for those waiting at the post office because it takes a very long time to be served. Favorite ingredient for food: mayonnaise. And wine and German-style beer.
